Maybe she is in awe of the whole religious aspect. Maybe she fears Leopolda somehow being able to catch up with her. Or she is curious to know what could happen if x and y mix. In turn, she could be afraid of leaving. Maybe Leopolda would say Satan's taken over her, and maybe Marie would really believe that.
I think Marie is curious as to what is going to happen. I think part of her wants to run away, but the other part is intrigued by her new surroundings.
Exactly. I think she is in awe/"intrigued" as said of her surroundings and what is happening, having never experienced this before. I think this prevents her from escaping/wanting to escape.

Marie knows that she needs help and won't run away from Leopolda's help. Even though part of her wants to run, she doesn't.

I think marie does not run away because she is still amazed by what has been going on is afraid to miss what would happen if she left.
